COLLINGWOOD GENERAL AND MARINE HOSPITAL

Following the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital’s (CGMH) Annual General Meeting on June 15, CGMH is pleased to announce the following reappointments and new members to its Board of Directors.
Mr. Barry Goodwin has been reappointed as the chair of the Board of Directors for a second term. Mr. Goodwin joined the board in 2020 and has been chair since June 2022.
“I am honoured to continue as chair during this challenging time in health care and look forward to providing continued leadership to the Board of Directors at this important stage in our Hospital’s history as we continue in our efforts to build a new hospital for the South Georgian Bay community,” says Mr. Goodwin.
Mr. Goodwin was a professor at the University of Toronto's Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, teaching in the Master of Public Policy program. Additionally, he had an extensive career as a senior executive with both the provincial and federal government, and worked in infrastructure development.
“CGMH is pleased that Mr. Goodwin will continue to provide board leadership where his knowledge of government and governance will assist us with the development of our new hospital,” says Mike Lacroix, CGMH president and CEO.
In addition, CGMH welcomes Ms. Chrissi Forte to the CGMH Board of Directors. Ms. Forte is the executive producer of Communications and Public Affairs at Shopify in addition to a social media brand mentor for Canada’s Futurpreneur program, helping local Collingwood businesses ramp up and scale their operations within the community and beyond.
CGMH is also pleased to announce the reappointment of Mr. David Johnston and Mr. Mark Saunders for additional three-year terms on the Board of Directors.
Two new community members will also offer their experience to the CGMH Board of Directors through committee work.
Ms. Sherry Espin, a researcher and expert in nursing and quality of patient care and a professor at Toronto Metropolitan University, will assist with the hospital’s quality and patient-focused objectives, while Mr. Craig Lillico will join the board’s Resource and Audit Committee as a seasoned executive who has worked for major nonprofit organizations as a Financial Officer and accountant.
“The Board deeply appreciates these highly skilled local residents contributing their time and knowledge to assist the hospital to continue to improve and meet the needs of our rapidly growing communities,” says Goodwin.
