The Roost recently won awards for three of its wines at Decanter World Wine Awards.

A Clarksburg winery is poring over the fruits of its labours with some solid reviews and awards won at the Decanter World Wine Awards this year.

Three of the four entries to the awards from The Roost Winery received accolades at the renowned international competition now in its 21st year.

The Roost's sparkling red called Silk Purse earned a silver and a score of 91, and the 2021 Marquette also earned a silver and a score of 90.

A score between 90 and 94, according to Decanter, means the wine is "highly recommended" and "a very accomplished wine with impressive complexity."

The Roost's sparkling rosé, called "Bunch'a Trouble," won a bronze at the event with a score of 88.

A score between 86 and 89 is "recommended" as a "well-made, straightforward and enjoyable wine."

The Decanter World Wine Awards is made up of a panel of over 240 leading wine experts, including 20 Master Sommeliers as well as 61 Masters of Wine from over 30 countries. Over 18,000 wines from 57 countries were blind-tasted.

"We couldn’t be more excited and grateful for these honours," stated a news release from The Roost. "Thank you to our amazing team, loyal customers, and supporters who make this possible. Your love and passion for our wines inspire us every day."

The Roost is located on 10th Line in The Blue Mountains, and they make their wines on-site.
