Whether it's a protest by local students, a city council meeting or a new business opening, CollingwoodToday will provide readers with unbiased reporting - something to celebrate today, World News Day.
World News Day helps to highlight the importance of independent, reliable journalism. It celebrates the stories, the people, the reporting and the professional news organizations who are responsible for creating and sharing news around the world.

Here at CollingwoodToday, we are dedicated to bringing you the stories that matter most in our community. We share your neighbours’ accomplishments, alert you to breaking news, and hold those in power accountable.

Reporting on the news is a 24/7 job. Our passionate local staff works to provide Collingwood with informative and engaging content, with news updated as it happens.

Over the past year, CollingwoodToday has been helping to keep you informed with news from your neighbourhood. We were there when the electronic voting system went down the night of the municpal election, and we've been there for every day of the judicial inquiry into the 2012 Collus share sale. We shared the story of Alex and Rayne, two homeless youth whose experience shed light on a homelessness crisis in Collingwood and across the county. We've been telling the stories of the town and the people who make it a community.

As we commemorate World News Day and the important community role we hold as a platform for sharing news and information with you each day, we would also like to take a minute to thank you, the community, for demonstrating local news matters by continuing to visit CollingwoodToday.
