My Friend's House is sending a big thank you to the community for supporting their programs through the recent HeART of Red Gala fundraiser.

The event, presented by Studio Ciel raised $62,778 for the local women and children's shelter, which puts the organization closer to its annual goal of $800,000 to bridge the annual funding gap.

The event took place at Side Launch Brewing Company, which Studio Ciel turned into an art gallery displaying 28 pieces donated to be auctioned off.

Guests were entertained by the Karla Crawford Band and fed by Mamacita Tacoria.

The guest speakers of the night included Catherine Garceau, a former Olympian and domestic violence survivor, and former Owen Sound poet laureate Richard-Yves Sitovski.

My Friend’s House received over 4500 calls to their 24/7 crisis line last year, and continues to expand their outreach programming into the five communities they serve because their small residential shelter is almost always full.
