NEWS RELEASE
HOSPICE GEORGIAN TRIANGLE
*************************
Staff and volunteers of Hospice Georgian Triangle (HGT) will celebrate the 5th anniversary of Campbell House the week of Aug. 4, 2019 with their own version of #ChalkYourWalk – taking inspiration from our neighbours at both Community Living and Chapman House in Owen Sound, and are encouraging everyone in South Georgian Bay to participate.
HGT’s Interim Executive Director Trish Rawn explains “everyone is invited to use chalk to decorate the sidewalk in front of your home or business to leave messages and pictures of kindness to promote caring in our community.
"This is a special way to show your support of the patients and families we are currently caring for at Campbell House, but it’s also a wonderful tribute to those that have been a part of the HGT family at Campbell House over the last five years," said Rawn.
"By sharing these messages on our sidewalks and driveways it also helps support our staff and volunteers in the import and challenging caregiving work they do every day.”
HGT has cared for 776 patients and their families within Campbell House since opening the doors on Aug. 4, 2014. They support an additional 350+ patients in their own homes and in our community every year.
“We will leave messages written in chalk about support, kindness, memories and gratitude for our patients and community clients, their families and our donors” says Janet Fairbridge, HGT Foundation Director.
“This is a fun way for us to honour our community and all they continue to do for HGT. Please take a photo of your own message and tag us on Facebook at Hospice Georgian Triangle or on Twitter @HospiceGT .”
A more formal community celebration of the 5th anniversary will be held in December. More details will be released in the fall.
