The County of Simcoe reminds residents of the following schedule changes on Canada Day:
Curbside waste collection and waste drop-off facilities
- Waste collection is ongoing on Canada Day as there is no change to the county’s waste collection schedule.
- All county waste drop-off facilities are closed on Monday, July 1 except for the Matchedash facility, which is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Summer yard waste collection will commence on Monday, July 1. It will be collected biweekly for the month on your designated garbage week. Please ensure that your waste is set out curbside by 7 a.m. on Monday of your collection week. Collection will occur at any point during the week; it won’t necessarily coincide with your regular collection day.
LINX Transit
- LINX Transit services are not in operation on Monday, July 1 (with the exception of Route 4. Route 4 only will be operating a Sunday schedule on Monday, July 1.
- Return to regularly scheduled services for all routes on Tuesday, July 2.
- Please visit nextlinx.simcoe.ca to check all route schedules.
County administration centre (Midhurst) and Service Simcoe Contact Centre
- The administration centre, including the Service Simcoe Contact Centre, will be closed to the public on Monday, July 1.
Ontario Works and Children Services
- All Ontario Works and Children Services offices are closed on Monday, July 1.
Simcoe County Museum
- The museum will be open for its regularly scheduled hours (10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
- For information on what’s happening at the museum, visit museum.simcoe.ca.
Simcoe County Archives
- The archives is closed on Monday, July 1.
