The Blue Mountain Village Foundation is sending out gratitude for those who helped make the 20th annual charity golf event on Sept. 20 a success, and helped raise $85,000.
Many local businesses sponsored the event, which took place at the Monterra Golf Course at Blue Mountain Village, which helped cover costs and maximize the impact of donations.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Blue Mountain Village Foundation, we extend our heartfelt appreciation for the generosity of this community, who joined us in a day of play as our guests, sponsors, and donors. Sponsorships and donations from organizations and businesses help us raise funds to support this community and the vital charities within it," said Deb Piggott, event manager. "Together, we continue to transform lives and uplift this community, ultimately making this area a better place
to live, work and play.”
The village foundation will use the money raised at the golf event, and other finances raised through the year for grants awarded to charitable organizations in Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Stayner, The Blue Mountains, Meaford, Duntroon, Singhampton, Kimberley and Creemore.
The grants are given to organizations that work to address social gaps in the community.
To date, the foundation has raised $2 million, which has gone to community organizations, supports and services.
