Vehicle in ditch leads to impaired charges for Meaford woman

A Meaford woman has been charged with impaired driving after a vehicle became stuck in a snowbank in a ditch Thursday.

Shortly after 8 p.m., police responded to the scene near Camperdown Road and Highway 26 in The Blue Mountains. The driver failed an alcohol screening test, Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP said in a news release.

The 51-year-old woman was charged with operation while impaired (alcohol and drugs) and operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus).

The vehicle was ordered impounded for seven days and the driver has a Jan. 16 court date in Owen Sound.
