3 arrested in Clearview for impaired driving

The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested three people for impaired driving related charges over the last few days.

Officers responded to a traffic complaint on Jan. 24 at 12:14 a.m. on Simcoe Street in Clearview Township where they pulled over a driver and noted the smell of alcohol. Officers then tested the driver with a screening device and arrested the 41-year-old from Clearview. He faces a charge of operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 or above. 

During a RIDE spot check on Old Second Street North in Springwater on Jan. 25 at 2:52 p.m. officers used a roadside screening device on a driver after noting signs of impairment. 

A 50-year-old from Springwater township was arrested and charged with operation while impaired with a blood alcohol content of 80 or above. 

On Jan. 26 at 9:14 p.m. Huronia West OPP officers responded to a call for help finding a vehicle that was involved in a collision in Collingwood. 

Police found the vehicle on Highway 26 in Stayner and officers noticed signs of impairment in the driver. 

A 26-year-old from Chatsworth was arrested and charged with operation while impaired with a blood alcohol content of 80 or more, operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs, and failure to stop after an accident. 

All three of the people arrested will face their charges in court later.
