Police investigating series of break-ins, thefts in Meaford

UPDATE: The person of interest was identified. 

Police are looking to speak with a person of interest in relation to three break-ins and one theft in Meaford.

On June 23 at about 8:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a break-in on Albert Street between Thompson and Victor streets. It is believed the break and enter occurred between 4 and 8 p.m. that day. About $300 worth of camping supplies was stolen.

On June 24, Grey Bruce OPP received three calls for other break-ins in Meaford.

At 9:09 a.m., a resident on Parker Street, west of Thompson Street, reported someone stole a bicycle from their shed. The bicycle was worth $200. The caller has video surveillance “but did not capture the suspect well,” Grey Bruce OPP said in a news release. It is believed the suspect attended the residence June 23 at midnight (going into June 24).

At 10:12 a.m., a resident on Birchwood Court reported a few bicycles were stolen from their property. 

At 12:15 a.m., a resident on Parker Street, west of Thompson Street, reported a break-in.
