An 18-year-old from Oshawa has been charged with dangerous driving after he crashed into a vehicle transporting Premier Doug Ford after a speaking engagement at Darlington Nuclear Generating Station.
The premier was uninjured and the 18-year-old and his passenger were treated for minor injuries then sent home from the hospital.
The collision happened on Highway 401 around 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 8. near Brock Road.
Ford was in an OPP Protective Services vehicle at the time. He told Canadian Press the vehicle he was in "got hammered" but that he was OK and he hoped the other driver was OK.
The 18-year-old driver has a court date on Feb. 20 to face the dangerous driving charge, states a news release from OPP.
