The following letter is in response to a proposal to build an arts centre on the site of a Pine Street parking lot.

I understand Collingwood wants to build a new and massive art centre, but taking our parking lots away is not the answer.

In order to go downtown and shop or go to appointments we need all that we have for parking.

As far as I'm concert there is a vacant terminal that could be used for an art centre.

On Mountain Road, where Goodyear was, could be big enough.

When you start taking our parking spots away, businesses are going to lose out on customers. Not to mention, through the summer, the market is there.

There has to be a different place for this art centre.

I also believe for the town of Collingwood, you're making something too big and not everyone is going to go there, because not everyone cares for art.

We need a better decision.
