I, like every other taxpayer in Collingwood, am reeling over the shocking increase in OPP costs for 2025. To say they are ridiculous is an understatement.
Our homeless population is increasing daily, many are hanging on by their fingernails, trying to pay bills, buy food and keep a roof over their heads. This may be the straw that broke the camel's back for many.
I read the article that other towns, cities etc, are looking into other policing ideas.
Our mayor and council should be looking into this and other alternatives for policing. The OPP has priced themselves right out of the market because we just can't afford them anymore!
