The Highways of Hell column misses the biggest catastrophe of reckless driving – too fast, too close, passing on double lines, no signalling intentions –highways and road closures.

Driving to Toronto yesterday a report indicated which roads were congested – all due to crashes. Norway has zero tolerance for such reckless driving as it clogs roads and highways. In many cases, it sends traffic off on huge detours, transport trucks are especially disadvantaged.

Money on new unnecessary roads should be spent on ensuring drivers drive safely and responsibly and do not clog our roads.
