Editor,

So many people enjoy the local trails – dog walkers, joggers, cyclists, and horseback riders.

I regularly enjoy the Rail Trail between Collingwood and Stayner but, this summer, it's become obvious that local barns need some education.

Daily, I encounter huge mounds of horse droppings along the trail.

We expect dog owners to clean up after their pets but somehow horseback riders don't feel the need to clear the path after their horse relieves itself.

It's time to carry a small shovel, dismount, and clean up!

Be respectful of the other people using the trail.

No one wants to dodge, or worse – slide through, horse poop.

A big part of sharing the trail is making sure others can enjoy it too.
