I am not in favour of the grandiose terminals project.

It is not possible to be “all things to all people” as promised.

It is unrealistic to think a condominium, a hotel, restaurants and shops and a rental store can exist on this piece of real estate and co-exist with the current boat house, paddling club, harbour and public swim area.

Where do the hotel and condo owners park? Oh, let me guess, in a huge multi-level car garage on the “park” property right at the waterfront?

Why not commission an artist to build a replica monument of these terminals with an engraved history on it for all to read and enjoy?

Save the waterfront and the park solely for the enjoyment of all who live in Collingwood.

Build a restaurant and washrooms, and leave the rest of the waterfront for those of us not fortunate enough to live on the water and unable to access the water.

I am in complete agreement with Corinne Bassett’s letter to the editor in December and her comment “this needs a re-think by the town planners and sincere reflection on the locals’ thoughts.”
