Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH) is excited to announce a significant upgrade to our diagnostic imaging services.

To better serve our community, we are preparing to welcome a new, state-of-the-art X-ray machine, expected to arrive in early September.

To accommodate this new equipment, CGMH will begin construction on one of our X-ray rooms starting Monday, July 22, 2024.

During the construction period, CGMH will operate with a single X-ray machine. We are taking every measure to minimize the impact on our patients during this time. Our emergency department will see and treat patients, which will continue to be our top priority and will be seen based on medical urgency. While walk-ins will still be accommodated, we strongly encourage outpatients to use our new online booking system for a more streamlined experience. The online booking platform is available on CGMH’s website for bookings starting July 22.

Steps to book an X-ray appointment online:

  1. Visit the CGMH diagnostic imaging web page at cgmh.on.ca/programs-services/diagnostic-imaging.
  2. Select the ‘Click here to book’ button.
  3. Select your preferred date and time from the available slots.
  4. Fill in your details and book.

Patients using the online booking system will receive a confirmation email with details for their appointment. Our team will do our best to honour appointment times, but please be aware that delays may occur due to the nature of medical procedures and urgent care needs.

CGMH is committed to delivering the highest standard of healthcare and improving the overall patient experience. This construction marks an exciting step forward in enhancing our imaging capabilities, incorporating advanced features for enhanced patient comfort. This new X-ray machine exemplifies the generosity of our community and the support of our partners at the CGMH Foundation. Together, we are bringing cutting-edge technology to South Georgian Bay, ensuring the best possible care for our patients, right here at home.
