Police catch teen driving 111km/h in school zone

The speeder has prompted police to remind motorists to slow down in school zones

The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) want to remind drivers to slow down in school zones.

On September 24, 2024, at 11:40 a.m., the Grey Bruce OPP were conducting traffic enforcement on Grey Road 4 in Maxwell in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

A motor vehicle was observed travelling 111km/hr in a 40km/hr zone. As a result, a 17-year-old driver of Grey Highlands was charged with the following:

  • Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed
  • Speeding 1-49km/hr over the posted limit

The driver received a 14-day impoundment and a 30-day driver's licence suspension.
