'People come for the activity, outdoors and nature yet are choked out by smokers and are meet with the unsightly butt garbage,' says letter writer

CollingwoodToday welcomes letters to the editor at [email protected] or via our website. Please include your daytime phone number and address (for verification of authorship, not publication. The following letter was sent in response to a recent article about the Keep Collingwood Clean group asking council to implement stronger bylaws against smoking in public places and littering.

I have been trying to get Blue Mountain Resort to mandate no smoking anywhere on their property, to no avail.

Let the smokers smoke in their cars.

People light up cigarettes and joints once on the chair – and you can't jump out of the way of that trailing smoke – and all over the property, including the parking lot where others have to go to get to their vehicle.

People come for the activity, outdoors and nature yet are choked out by smokers and are meet with the unsightly butt garbage.

Maybe once the Town of Collingwood does something, which would be wonderful, Blue will follow suit.
