Fifty-eight-year-old Tim McNabb has been charged with two counts of sexual exploitation, three counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual interference.
Collingwood OPP confirmed the charges were laid on June 4.
There is a publication ban on McNabb's court case. None of the charges have been proven in court.
McNabb spent 16 years on Collingwood council, 10 as a councillor between 1991 and 1997 and 2006 and 2010, and six years as deputy mayor between 1997 and 2003.
McNabb also applied for the vacant council position following former councillor Tina Comi's resignation in 2022, but McNabb was not chosen to fill the empty council seat.
